If I could give zero stars, I would. A couple of months ago I received a phone call from an employee at Dogtopia in west midtown Atlanta while my dog was boarding there. A young German shepherd pup ripped hair from my dog’s face. See photos. The young lady told me the dog had scuffles before and she didn’t know why the dog was still able to attend the daycare! By the demeanor of the dog and mine, they shouldn’t have been in the same room anyway due to temperaments. My dog is older and less active than a puppy. The GM Wylen called me afterwards to recant what the previous employee told me. They both downplayed how large of a chunk it was. I get back in town, pick up my dog, I asses her and take her to the vet as her jaw is severely swollen and she drooled from pain the next several days. Both employees told me repeatedly to not take her to a vet like hair wasn’t ripped from her face. I’m glad i did because it had already got infected. I called Dogtopia requesting the GM call me to discuss the vet bill and never received a call back. The vet told me they should pay the bill but the only thing I received was $50 off a $200 stay plus $200 vet bill. Followed up call and left a voicemail. Nothing. My dog looks like she was attacked. How did this happen if people were there watching them? I don’t know. I asked for camera footage and haven’t received it.up until that point, she’d been visiting that daycare for the last two years and they said a case like this has never happened. If that’s the case, why not comp her stay? That’s good customer service. Instead you tell me, “well the rest of her stay went well” how do when she’s leaving with a swollen jaw and hair ripped from half of her face?? I wish j can upload the video I took. The photos show how swollen her face was and how large of a patch was ripped from her face. No one has called to check on her And yet this was a rare incident for them.
