The kennel facility is a 40' x 60' building behind my house. It was built to code as a commercial facility and has been inspected and passed by both the parish building inspector and the state Fire Marshal. It also meets the Americans with Disabilities Act standards of accessibility. However, it is still a work in progress and will be for quite a while as I am doing all of the finishing out myself. A lot of the work up to now has been the infrastructure, including 2 central heat and air units, a commercial septic system (which required a DEQ wastewater permit), lots of electrical to prepare for the scope of the finished project and a drop-ceiling to facilitate temperature maintenance during the heat of summer or the cold of winter.
