I sent my puppy to Windy Acres in Freeland a total of four times in March and April, days I had to go in the office and needed daycare for her. On the fourth day, I went to pick her up and was told by the front desk that her toe is bleeding a little and they think she caught it in their fencing. They brought her out to me and she was hopping on three legs. She wouldn't put any weight on her back right leg. I took her straight to our vet, who was kind enough to see her after hours. Her exam and xrays showed abrasions on her inner right back leg and a fractured tibia. The xrays were sent to the surgeon, who after review said she needed immediate surgery. I contacted windy acres, their response is 1250 reimbursement from insurance and told me they didn't even have to do that. Windy Acres has been half responding to emails from me and have taken the stance of not responsible and stop asking us questions. We paid for our puppy, just five months old at the time, to be watched. Yet no one can tell us what happened and none of their cameras caught the incident. The one camera, that I know of, that would have showed her hopping on three legs with an employee present was not saved and recorded over. We are currently at about 3500 charged in medical. She has another visit with the surgeon on the 8th. We will see then if a second surgery to remove the pins is necessary. I do not want this to happen to anyone else's baby.
